Make sure your CV does the right job

Before you write your CV, remember that almost every employer will want applicants who will:

  1. Have a positive impact

  2. Be reliable and do what they say they will do

  3. Cope well under pressure

  4. Stay focused and organised

  5. Be loyal and committed

  6. Be professional To begin with your CV is all they can see. If it is too long, too rambling, too unfocussed that is how they will see you. It takes some candidates a while to see the light, but when you read a well organised, well laid out, brief CV it really stands out. And so will you.
